Sustainability meets efficiency – smart charging infrastructure at Meier Tobler
A state-of-the-art logistics and administration center was built on an area of over 40,000 m², which not only impresses in terms of functionality and security of supply, but also sets new standards in terms of sustainability and energy efficiency. A central element of this future-oriented approach is the intelligent charging infrastructure for electric mobility – planned and implemented by Invisia.

Photovoltaics as an energy source – electromobility as a logical consequence
The basis for the overall ecological concept is an impressive photovoltaic system with 4,953 solar modules and an output of 2 megawatts peak. It is one of the largest of its kind in Switzerland and supplies not only the building but also numerous operational processes with clean energy. From the outset, the aim was to use this energy intelligently – including for the operation of a future-oriented charging infrastructure for electric vehicles.

Customised charging points – where they are needed
Invisia planned and realised a tailor-made solution that meets the diverse requirements of the site. The charging points are located at strategically important points in and around the building:
- Charging points for employees and company vehicles are available in the underground car park.
- Charging stations for electrically powered transport vehicles have been integrated at the charging ramps – an important step on the way to completely CO₂-neutral logistics.
The charging infrastructure is therefore not only functional, but also deeply integrated into daily processes – without any additional effort for users.

Intelligent load management – dynamic and grid-friendly
The load and charging management system implemented by Invisia is the centrepiece of the technical implementation. It ensures that the available energy is distributed in an efficient, grid-friendly and prioritised manner – always in line with the current consumption situation in the building and the feed-in from the photovoltaic system.
The system analyses the available electrical energy in real time and dynamically controls the charging process based on the current grid and consumption situation. This creates an intelligent interplay between building technology, charging infrastructure and local energy production. The result: optimised use of the available resources with minimal grid consumption.

With the combination of renewable energy, smart charging infrastructure and automated energy management, Meier Tobler is sending a strong signal in favour of the energy revolution in building technology. The service centre in Oberbuchsiten is thus becoming a real showcase project – not only for the HVAC sector, but for all companies that want to make their infrastructure future-proof and sustainable.
